16) YOUTH DEER HUNT: One lucky youth hunter will have the hunt of their lifetime on the Stucker Ranch. This 1200 acre ranch is located just west of winters in A zone. The hunt will take place the weekend of September 12-13 and will be hosted by California Waterfowl Biologist Robert Eddings. This ranch is managed solely for wildlife and it is not uncommon to see 5-10 bucks a day while hunting. It is truly a deer haven. If there is time, you and your child can also dip a line in his private pond that is loaded with blue gill and bass. 32) 2009/2010 ARGENTINA DOVE HUNT: Sporting Adventures International, LLC is donating a four man - three day dove hunting trip to one of our three Estancia in Cordoba, Argentina. This trip includes: 3 full days of hunting, all meals and lodging in hunting area, English speaking guides, meet and greet service at the Cordoba airports, all ground transportation from the Cordoba Airport and to and from the hunting areas, bird runners, and gun cleaning. The trip does not include: Airfare (we have really good rates and can help with the airline reservations), tips, shells, licenses, or gun permits/gun rental. The chapter members that purchase this hunt will be taken care of from the time they get off the plane in Argentina until they board the plane to head back to the US; one of our representatives will be with them at all times. This decoy will be auctioned throughout the year and the highest bidder will receive the original. Tom Matus was recently named CWA’s carver of the year at the annual PFDA Decoy show in Sacramento.
34) THE BAMBINO AND THE IRON HORSE, 1927: This rare photo features Babe Ruth (on the right holding ducks) and Lou Gehrig on the left (also holding ducks) enjoying a duck hunt after the 1927 season when they not only won the World Series, but they both hit a combined 107 homeruns. The Babe hit 60 and Lou Gehrig hit 47. What makes this photo so rare is that it captures Lou and the Babe together sharing leisure time and not in their Yankee pinstripes. This photo was taken in Santa Ana, CA in 1927, as you can tell from the Classic Packard’s and their 1927 California license plates. CWA was given permission to reproduce this photo by Paul Angelo.
